lightning bolts. I invoked Azsura's protection, drank one of Ajira's spell absorption potions, and rushed the figure. They missed a lot of their spells due to the fog. They turned out to be a human, wearing naught but a heavy iron chestplate. I dumped their body off of the bridge, retrieved my pack, and poked around the ruins for nearly an hour, during which the sun came out.
I encountered a species of plant I hadn't seen before, which the guide lists as Trama Root: large, woody stems variegated with vegetal green flesh, with spikes dotting their length - I don't know if "spike" is the right term, as they tend to be the size of my outstretched hand,
from wrist to fingertip or so. My travellers' guide says the spikes are edible.
I found a pneumatically powered entrance: massive, spherical revolving stone doors. Despite my curiosity, I did not enter. I will return and investigate when I have more food and water, not to mention more proper supplies like rope and a torch, and something with which to wedge the revolving door open.
From the Dwemmer ruin atop the ridge, the road descends via switchback after switchback down into what I can only describe as a volcanic basin, choked with ash
