most of its mass occupied by its head, with a massive mouth full of flat teeth. Obviously an herbivore, but it attacked me after I drew too near despite my caution. I don't think they can see very well, because I was able to side step it with little trouble, and got it through its neck. I put my armor back on, which turned out to be the correct decision. Not only did a cliff racer dive at me, but another of the saurids with the big mouth charged me shortly after. The second one fled after I smacked it on the nose with the little boss of my shield. I don't like killing animals, but I have never known wildlife to be so aggressive.
A while later, I encountered a massive structure looming out of the smoke - it must be Marandus, according to Ranis's directions. I did not readily find an entrance, and after a quarter lap, the rest of the structure came into view - very large. I will return later.
The path to Punabi went uphill, hopefully out of the layer of smoke. I found Punabi by accident - a pair of cliff racers dove me, and I saw a rough wooden door set in the entrance of a cave or mine ahead of me on the path, so I ran inside for shelter, only noticing a little handwritten sign after I missed the door on my first flailing attempt to shut it behind me.
