the plaza at the top. The layouts of the Cantons are tremendously confusing, consisting of two inner floors, a covered 'plaza' level above, and a sewer level below. The levels seem to be devoted more and more to residence the further down in the Canton they are, with the plaza being devoted entirely to business.
The people are typically unfriendly and the guard, the Ordiantors, are outright hostile, addressing me almost exclusively as "scum," "n'wah," or "s'wit," and threatening to kill me should I even look at them too long. It is hard not to - their armor is immaculate, of gorgeous construction, some kind of brassy or gilded metal. I have not
gotten a good look yet though.
I asked a man in the plaza for directions, and he handed me a pamphlet smearing a local alchemist. For directions he only offered "in the waistworks" - the name for the inner levels.
Eventually I found the book store, and opened the door to a strange sight: an Ordinator, leaning against a bookshelf, reciting poetry to himself in a beautiful warbling sing-song. He didn't stop after I entered either, not minding my presence. I inquired the owner as to whether he had a copy of the Chronicles of Nchuleft and he directed me to a tall, narrow shelf
